FAQs
Answers to common questions about Currently — account setup, licensing, usage, and support.
Getting started
How do I get started with Currently?
To purchase a license, you first need an account. You can request an account during the sign-up process. Every submission is reviewed manually by our team. Once your account is approved, you'll receive an email confirming that your account is ready. Please make sure to check your spam folder as well.
I signed up — what happens next?
After signing up, your request enters our manual review process. We verify company details such as your Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration. As soon as everything is approved, you'll receive an email and can start using Currently.
Why is a Chamber of Commerce registration required?
Currently is designed for professional and commercial use. Requiring a valid registration helps us ensure the platform is used within its intended scope.
How long does account approval take?
In most cases, approval takes up to one business day. If it takes longer, feel free to contact us and we'll gladly check the status for you. Don't forget to check your spam folder.
Is Currently intended for personal or business use?
Currently is primarily designed for professional and business use, focusing on sectors such as solar energy, batteries, energy systems, installers, and suppliers. A valid KvK registration is required. If you are a private individual or operate outside these sectors, feel free to contact us and we can review whether an exception is possible.
Trials
Is there a trial available?
Yes. A trial is available and can be activated after the sign-up process through the Currently Launcher application.
Do I need to enter payment details to start a trial?
No. You don't need to provide any payment details to start a trial. Once logged into the launcher, you'll see a clear 'Start Trial' button that lets you begin immediately with a single click.
Can I get an extended trial period?
Generally, no. The standard trial period lasts fourteen days. That said, we do monitor usage metadata such as activity levels. If a trial shows little to no usage, we may consider extending it. In that case, please contact us to discuss the options.
What happens when my trial ends?
Nothing is charged automatically — you don't enter any payment details to start a trial, so it simply expires. Your account stays active, and when you're ready you choose your licenses in the customer portal to continue. Get in touch if you'd like help picking the right setup.
Pricing & Licensing
How does pricing work?
Currently is priced per user, per month, based on the role each person needs: Essential for field technicians (€39), Professional for the back office (€89), and Ultimate for power users (€129). You mix and match license types to fit your team, with a minimum of 3 licenses. Choosing yearly billing gives you two months free.
What's the difference between Essential, Professional and Ultimate?
Each license type matches a role. Essential is for field technicians — the mobile web app with their schedule, routes and job preparation. Professional is for the back office — the full CRM, planning, 3D design studio, quotes and client portal. Ultimate is for power users who need invoicing, automations, full white-label and every future feature. You combine the types your team needs.
Is there a minimum number of licenses?
Yes. Currently starts at a minimum of 3 licenses, and we recommend at least one Professional license (or higher). Essential is for field technicians and only gives access to the mobile app — a Professional or higher license is what unlocks the dashboard, so you'll need at least one to run the back office. Beyond that, you're free to combine license types however suits your team.
How do licenses work?
Currently uses a floating license system. This means licenses are owned by your organization and can be shared among your employees. Licenses are not tied to a specific person. When a license is in use, it cannot be used by someone else until it is released.
Can licenses be shared outside my organization?
No. Licenses may only be shared within your own organization. Sharing licenses with people outside your company is not allowed and violates our Terms of Service. Please refer to the Terms for more details.
Are there discounts or promotions?
No. We don't run frequent sales or short-term promotions. Instead, pricing stays fair and predictable through floating licenses you can share across your team, plus a built-in two-month discount when you choose yearly billing. For larger organisations we offer tailored Enterprise pricing — get in touch.
Can I change my license after purchase?
Yes. Once logged in, you can manage everything through the customer portal. You can upgrade or downgrade license types, adjust the number of seats, and switch between monthly and yearly billing. Changes take effect immediately.
How long does it take for my license to become active?
Licenses usually become available within a few minutes. If activation takes longer, please contact our support team right away and we'll assist you.
Do you offer enterprise or custom licensing?
Yes. If you require custom licensing, large seat counts, or enterprise-specific arrangements, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Which payment methods can I use, and how does VAT work?
You can pay by credit card, SEPA direct debit or iDEAL; bank transfer (on invoice) is available for larger and Enterprise accounts. All prices are excluding VAT — VAT is added at your applicable local rate.
Can I add or remove licenses during my billing cycle?
Yes. You can scale the number of seats up or down at any time from the customer portal, and changes take effect immediately. Keep in mind the minimum of 3 licenses, including at least one Professional or higher.
Dashboard & mobile
Do I need to install anything to use the dashboard?
No. The Currently dashboard runs entirely in your browser — just log in at app.currently3d.com. There's nothing to install or keep updated, and you always have the latest version.
What can field technicians do in the mobile app?
With an Essential license, technicians open the mobile web app right in their phone's browser — no app store needed. They get their schedule and day planning, routes and travel info, the work preparation for each project, and can add photos and notes straight from the job site.
Can field technicians see customer or financial data?
No. Essential is scoped to fieldwork — schedule, routes, job preparation, photos and notes. The CRM, quotes, invoicing and other back-office data live in the dashboard and require a Professional or higher license.
How do the dashboard, mobile app and Studio fit together?
The dashboard is your back office in the browser (CRM, planning, quotes, invoicing). The mobile web app is the field companion for technicians. Currently Studio is the Windows desktop app for 3D system design. They share one account and the same license pool, so your team works from a single setup.
Does the mobile app work offline?
No. The mobile app runs in the browser and needs an internet connection to load your schedule and to upload photos and notes. There's no offline mode yet, so at sites with no reception you'll need to wait until you're back online.
System Requirements & Compatibility (3D Studio)
Does Currently run in the cloud?
Partly. The Currently dashboard (CRM, planning, quotes) and the mobile web app run in the cloud — you use them straight from your browser on any device, with nothing to install. The Currently Studio 3D design app is a desktop application that runs locally on Windows and stores its project files on your computer. Cloud sync for Studio projects is being rolled out so you can reach them from anywhere.
Do I need an internet connection to use Currently?
Yes. An internet connection is required for licensing and account validation.
Can I use Currently on multiple computers?
Yes, as long as a license seat is available. Licenses can be used across different machines within your organization, but not simultaneously beyond the number of active seats.
What operating systems are supported?
The Currently Studio 3D desktop app is available for Windows only, with macOS support planned. The dashboard and mobile app aren't tied to an operating system — they run in any modern browser, on any device.
What kind of computer do I need to run Currently?
These requirements apply to the Currently Studio 3D desktop app, which is built on Unreal Engine 5 and modern game technology and needs a more powerful system than typical design software. We recommend at least 16 to 32 gigabytes of RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 or better, and a modern CPU that matches these specifications. Lower-end systems may work, but performance and stability cannot be guaranteed. The dashboard and mobile app have no such requirements — they only need a modern browser.

Product Features & Capabilities
What is Lead-to-Invoice (L2I)?
Lead-to-Invoice (L2I) is the complete commercial cycle of an installation business: every step between a customer’s first inquiry and the paid invoice, run as one connected flow. A classic CRM stops at the won deal and an ERP starts at the order — L2I covers the whole cycle: lead, quote, win, work, invoice. Currently is built around this idea. Read more at What is L2I? or on lead-to-invoice.com.
What types of energy systems can I model with Currently?
Currently is designed to model complete energy systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, grid connections, loads, and energy flows between components. Support for additional technologies may be added over time.
Is Currently suitable for small installers as well as larger companies?
Yes. Currently is designed to scale with your organization, from small installation companies to larger teams working on complex energy projects.
Can I use Currently for conceptual design as well as detailed system modeling?
Yes. Currently supports both early-stage conceptual layouts and more detailed system designs, allowing you to refine projects as they evolve.
What happens to my projects if I cancel my subscription?
You retain access to your locally stored project files. Active editing requires a valid license.
Updates & Maintenance
How often does Currently receive updates?
Currently is actively developed and receives regular updates that include improvements, bug fixes, and new features.
Are updates included in my subscription?
Yes. All active subscriptions include access to updates during the subscription period.
Do updates affect existing projects?
No. Updates are designed to be backward compatible and should not affect your existing projects.
Collaboration & Onboarding
Can multiple team members work on the same project at the same time?
No. Currently does not support real-time collaborative editing yet. This may be introduced in a future version.
Do you offer onboarding or training?
Yes. Currently is designed to be self-serve for teams that want to get started on their own, but we also offer paid on-site and remote onboarding days. See the Onboarding page for packages and pricing.
