The idea behind Currently

What is Lead-to-Invoice?

You came looking for a CRM, or maybe an ERP. Lead-to-Invoice (L2I) is why neither word quite fits an installation business, and what we built instead.

lead-to-invoice  ·  noun · abbr. L2I

The complete commercial cycle of an installation business: every step between a customer’s first inquiry and the paid invoice, run as one connected flow.

Why a new term

CRM stops at the win. ERP starts at the order. Your business is the whole cycle.

What a CRM covers

Leads, contacts, deals — up to the moment the customer says yes. Then it hands off: the quote is a document, the project is someone else’s spreadsheet, the invoice lives in accounting.

What an ERP covers

Resources — articles, purchasing, finance — from the order onwards. Sales is an input from somewhere else, and the customer’s journey before the order is invisible.

An installation business doesn’t have a CRM-shaped problem or an ERP-shaped problem. It has a cycle-shaped problem: the seams between tools are where hours, margin and customers leak. L2I closes the seams by running the whole cycle on one platform.

The cycle

Five stages. Zero seams.

01

Lead

Every inquiry — website, shop, phone — lands in the same system that will quote it.

02

Quote

Quotes are built from your live product catalog and real prices, not copied documents.

03

Win

The customer accepts a branded proposal online — recorded on the same record the lead opened.

04

Work

The won quote becomes a planned project; the field team sees it live on mobile.

05

Invoice

Billing is generated from the same record — what was quoted is what gets invoiced.

The test

A platform is L2I when all eight hold

Not a marketing badge — a checklist you can run against any platform, including ours.

Score your current stack honestly — most installation businesses pass two or three. Currently passes all eight; that’s the standard we built it against.

The standard

L2I is bigger than one product

The full definition, the five stages and the eight criteria are maintained as an open, vendor-neutral standard at lead-to-invoice.com — written so you can hold any vendor to it.
